More

The concept of more is not a new one. I used to want more and more. I even had people calling me to offer me more – more furniture, more add ons to my home, more, more, more.

I guess it is old age because I have come to a time where I do not want more things. But I definitely want more. I want more patience that takes away worry, weeping, self-works, want, weakening, and wobbling. I want more of His Word in my heart helping me “Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him.” Psalm 37.7

I want more revelation – That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto (me) the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him: The eyes of (my) understanding being enlightened; that (I) may know what is the hope of His calling, and what the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to (me) who believe(s), according to the working of His mighty power.” Ephesians 1.17-19

I want more healing – “..but he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.” Isaiah 53.5

I want more peace – “Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition (definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God. And God’s peace [shall be yours, that [b]tranquil state of a soul assured of its salvation through Christ, and so fearing nothing from God and being content with its earthly lot of whatever sort that is, that peace] which transcends all understanding shall [c]garrison and mount guard over your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4.6-7.

I want more faith – “Now faith is the assurance (the confirmation, (the title deed) of the things [we] hope for, being the proof of things [we] do not see and the conviction of their reality [faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses]. Hebrews 11.1 and the whole chapter.

I want more works for God – “..and I by [good] works [of obedience] will show you my faith.” James 2.18

I want more victory – “But thanks be to God, Who gives us the victory [making us conquerors] through our Lord Jesus Christ.” 1 Corinthians 15.57

I want more  joy –  “And be not grieved and depressed, for the joy of the Lord is your strength and stronghold.” Nehemiah 8.10.

I want more worship – “…let us therefore, receiving a kingdom that is firm and stable and cannot be shaken, offer to God pleasing service and acceptable worship, with modesty and pious care and godly fear and awe…” Hebrews 12:28

I want more long- suffering –  “ But we commend ourselves in every way as [true] servants of God: through great endurance, in tribulation and suffering, in hardships and privations, in sore straits and calamities,…” 2 Corinthians 6
I want more kindness – “..love is kind”- 1 Corinthians 13.4

I want more wisdom  – “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of the giving God [Who gives] to everyone …. and it will be given him.” James 1.5

Yes, I think I am guilty. I want more, Lord. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
